I started my journey in software development when I was seven years old. My dad bought the family a ZX Spectrum 48k+ for Christmas, and we spent weekends and evenings entering in programs from user manuals and magazines. It wasn’t long before curiosity led me to write my own programs, which were mainly basic games.

My first professional development role was as a Lotus Notes developer in the transport industry. It didn’t provide me with the creative opportunities I yearned for, so I moved into the EdTech sector, initially as a web developer in a high school.

I’ve been active in the EdTech sector, mainly as a Moodle developer, for twenty years. I instantly fell in love with the ethos of Open Source software and have contributed numerous Moodle plugins and themes to the community.
